The Grinch who Stole Christmas!!!!

The Grinch!!!!!

I don't know about you but this time of year makes me cranky!!!  Shopping for the "perfect" presents and wondering if you bought everyone on the list the right gift.  Then its the Christmas card/letter/picture... ugh!! The pressure... are we dressed ok, do we match, did I choose the right picture, did I forget someone on the Christmas card list. The decorating of the house is the easiest for me. That brings me a little joy... some peace!!! Why do I get so stressed this time of year and become the Grinch! I get to the point where it's not even fun to buy the gifts, do the card, etc.  I just want to say forget it all!! Then I have to stop and remind myself that it's not about these things, this stuff that last for only awhile. It's about Jesus!! We are celebrating the ultimate gift, God sending His one and only Son into the world for us!! Jesus is the ultimate gift!! Nothing will ever be good enough. He's the bessssst!! That's what Christmas is all about... the Son of God!!! Stop the madness around you and thank God for His precious gift.

My "Kids".....need I say more

Spanky(left) & Gaby Rose(right)

Oh how I love this creatures. How can an animal tug at your heart so.  I received Gaby 3 1/2 years ago. She was a blessing in disguise. Not to long after we got her my mother in law and father in law were in a tragic accident. My mother in law died and my father in law lived. This dog brought us comfort and just healed us in places that only a dog can touch. One year after we got a phone call letting us know Gaby's brother was available for adoption. I had to say yes!!! Gaby needs her brother right?  So here's the dogs that just bring me joy and comic relief through all my little ups and downs. They know when I am happy and sad.  If I am not feeling well they are right there laying next to me. What a blessing from God!!!

Mo and Me

Tonight I picked up Mo(a feisty 10yr old tom-boy) from her Nana & Pop's house. She had spent the night with them and had a blast. My Mom & Dad live in the house I grew up in. When I picked her up she wanted to cruise around and look at Christmas lights. Oh I was so ready to go home and just sit on my butt and relax. But I didn't want to pass up this opportunity to spend time with her that would create a lasting memory. We stopped at one house that if you tune your radio to a certain station the lights danced to the much. It was awesome!!! We drove around and looked in awe at the lights and the talent that people have. We also had our radio tuned into some fabulous Christmas music. What a great time to spend!

Tis the Season to be.......(fill in the blank)

Can you see it?  That's love right there.  The 2 sisters, (my girls) and my handsome nephew AJ. Yep....that's love right there. When asked to smile at the camera this is what I got. Silliness!! I love it though. You can't get mad, this is what having fun is all about.
This time of year can be stressful.....perfect decorations, perfect gift, perfect Christmas card, perfect clothes, I can go on and on. I have to admit I do get caught up in this trap and forget that I need to just "chill out" and have fun, be silly, make a goofy face and live. Look at a child at this time of year and get a tip or to on how to act.
Tis the season to live and not be a Scrooge. Smile at someone you don't know, say Merry Christmas to the clerk behind the counter. Be NICE!!! But don't forget that this is the season that we cannot forget JESUS!! Yep, He's what it's all about. We need to remember to not forget Him in all we do. God loves us so much He sent His Son to die for us. He came as a baby in a manger. He lived a perfect life and died on the cross for you and me. WOW!!! What amazing love!! Spread the cheer and the good news this year. Praise the Lord for His love and grace.
